Tandoori Chicken- A healthy alternative to a take-away
This recipe is a great alternative to a take-away, its cheap and really healthy and tasty for all of the family. Why not give it a go and let me know what you think. This is only part of what my fitness members get when attending my training in Altrincham.
1kg chicken drumsticks
2 tsps fresh ginger, finely grated
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp ground coriander
1⁄2 tsp ground cinnamon
100g plain yoghurt
juice of 1 lemon
Per serving: 477 calories 21g fat
6g carbs 66g protein
Place the drumsticks in a bowl.
Mix the remaining ingredients together in a separate bowl and pour over the chicken. Mix well to cover each drumstick in the marinade.
Refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 180 ̊C/350 ̊F.
Transfer chicken and marinade to a foil lined tray. Cook for 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
Suggestion: Serve with a big leafy salad or greens.
Store any leftover chicken in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
